OSU-OKC Health, Public Safety and Education Career Fair Oct. 29: Who Can Go and Who's Recruiting
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — If you trained to work a patrol car, an ambulance, a hospital floor or a preschool classroom at OSU-OKC, the recruiters are coming to you next Thursday. Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City holds its Emergency Responder, Education and Health Sciences Career Fair on Thursday, October 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Center off N. Portland Avenue, and the college is pitching it to employers hiring for internships, part-time and full-time roles.
One week out, three hours, and a room aimed squarely at nurses, paramedics, police and fire candidates, imaging techs, vet techs, counselors and early childhood teachers. The catch: it is built for OSU-OKC students and alumni.

🔥 Who They're Recruiting
The college's listing names the programs it is matching employers to, and it reads like a map of the jobs that keep central Oklahoma running around the clock. On the health side: nursing, health care management, and radiography and sonography. On the emergency side: paramedicine, police, fire science and public safety management. Then a cluster most fairs skip: early care education, veterinary technology, addictions counseling, and crime victim survivor services.
OSU-OKC's career services office describes the audience as students and alumni headed into education, health care, public safety and emergency response. No employer list has been published yet, and no hiring headcount has been announced, so treat this as a chance to get in front of recruiters, not a guaranteed offer. Watch for postings, and get your resume ready now.
It follows the OSU-OKC Business and STEM Career Fair on October 21, which covered accounting, cybersecurity and construction technologies.
⚠️ Read This Before You Drive to N. Portland
The college lists the audience as current students and alumni, and it does not say the fair is open to the public. If you never enrolled at OSU-OKC, this is not your door. If you did, even years ago, you likely count as an alum, and a two-minute call to career services at 405-945-3385 will settle it before you burn a morning on I-40.
The listing does not mention a cost to attend. Ask when you call if that matters to you.
📋 How to Show Up Ready
- Bring a stack of printed resumes, and lead with your license, certification or clinical hours if you have them.
- Carry proof of your credentials in progress: CPR or BLS cards, EMT or paramedic status, or where you stand on your nursing boards.
- Know your shift answer. Hospitals, EMS and fire departments will ask about nights, weekends and 24-hour schedules.
- Career services in Student Center 132 can help with resumes and mock interviews ahead of the fair, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
🔎 Where to Aim in OKC Health Care and Public Safety
A three-hour fair is one morning. The hiring behind it runs all year across the hospital campuses near the Health Sciences Center, the INTEGRIS and Mercy systems, EMSA, the city's police and fire departments, and the clinics and child care centers spread from Yukon to Midwest City.
