OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — The metro's fall hiring calendar is unusual this year. There is no big convention-center job fair booked between now and Halloween. What the season has held instead is a run of four campus career fairs stretching from Norman up to N. Portland Avenue, every one of them open to alumni, plus a public job fair that has already run at the state's Oklahoma Works center on N. Lincoln Boulevard, a free skilled-trades fair in Norman, a veterans hiring fair in Del City and Macy's holiday hiring day at Penn Square Mall.

Eight verified job fairs and hiring events across the Oklahoma City metro between September 16 and October 22, 2026; four have already taken place. Of the four still ahead, two are open to the public and one is built for veterans. Here is what is real, what it costs, and who actually gets in.

OU Sooner Showcase Career Fair — Wednesday, September 16

12:30 – 4:30 p.m. | Lloyd Noble Center, Norman

This event has passed.

This is the biggest all-majors fair in the metro this fall and the closest thing OKC has to a general-audience event before November. The University of Oklahoma bills it as free and open to all OU students and alumni, and it makes a point of telling freshmen and sophomores to come too — which tells you the employers in the room are recruiting for internships and full-time roles at the same time. Four hours is a long window by career fair standards, so the 12:30 rush thins out by mid-afternoon if you would rather have a real conversation than shuffle through a line. Lloyd Noble sits on the south end of campus off Jenkins, an easy shot down I-35 from downtown OKC. Confirm the room and parking on OU's career fair page before you leave the house; the university lists the venue but not a street address.

OU Healthcare and Biosciences Career Fair — Tuesday, October 6

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Oklahoma Memorial Union, Norman

This event has passed.

Two hours, one sector, and the sector happens to be the one carrying the most weight in this metro. Health care and life sciences employ an enormous share of the OKC workforce between the Health Sciences Center campus northeast of downtown, the big private systems, and the research outfits clustered around them. This fair is aimed at students in health, life sciences and biotechnology. OU has not published an alumni invitation for this one the way it did for the Sooner Showcase, so treat it as a student event unless the career center tells you otherwise. If you are a working nurse, tech or lab professional, the October 8 fair in south OKC is the better use of a weekday.

OCCC Fall 2026 Career Fair — Thursday, October 8

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Oklahoma City Community College Visual and Performing Arts Center, 7777 S. May Ave.

This is the one to circle. Oklahoma City Community College is planning for more than 80 employers, it is free to everyone who attends, and it runs across the lunch hour so you can get in and out on a half day. OCCC welcomes its students and its alumni, and the alumni pool in this town is deep — if you took classes off S. May a decade ago, you are the audience. The college is also running prep workshops beforehand on resumes, interview etiquette and how to present yourself on the floor, with seats reserved in advance. Job Fair at Oklahoma Works — Monday, October 12

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Oklahoma Works, 5005 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105

No campus ID needed for this one. The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission's listing says veterans and members of the public are welcome at the state's job center north of the Capitol. The flyer names six employers: Oklahoma Human Services for case managers and child welfare roles, Gainwell Technologies for call center and health care claims work, Onin Staffing for warehouse, machine operator and fabrication jobs, Utility Asset Management for field technicians, Standby Personnel for trades, labor and logistics placements, and Accel Financial Staffing Solution for accounting, finance and clerical roles. Gainwell, Onin and Utility Asset Management plan to interview on site, and staff will help with resumes and applications. Bring printed resumes and a photo ID, and treat it as an interview day.

OSU-OKC Business and STEM Career Fair — Wednesday, October 21

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Student Center, 2nd Floor (HUB), 900 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73107

The last campus fair on the fall calendar, and the most specific. OSU-OKC is pairing two tracks in one room: business, meaning accounting, management and pre-professional studies, and STEM, which here means cybersecurity, data analytics, construction and engineering technologies. That is a sharp match for the metro's actual growth — the tech and back-office hiring that has built up around Oklahoma City over the last decade, plus the construction trades keeping pace with everything going up around the new arena and the MAPS projects. The campus sits just west of the fairgrounds off N. Portland, three minutes from I-40 and easy to reach from Yukon, Bethany or Warr Acres. Veterans Job and Resource Fair — Thursday, October 22

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | American Legion Post 73, 5000 SE 24th St., Del City, OK 73115

A hiring event built for veterans, a few minutes from Tinker. The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission lists employers in state government, health care and hospitality interviewing on site, with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs at the table to connect veterans with an employment specialist and with education, training and housing resources. No employers have been named, and the listing does not say whether non-veterans or spouses can attend or whether there is a cost, so call OESC at 405-557-7100 if any of that matters to you. Bring resumes and your DD-214, and dress for an interview. It wraps at 2, which leaves time to drive down I-35 for Build My Future in Norman.

Build My Future Career Fair — Thursday, October 22

3:00 – 5:00 p.m. | Cleveland County Fairgrounds, 615 E. Robinson St., Norman

The one fair on this list that does not care where you went to school. The Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association fills the Cleveland County Fairgrounds with hands-on exhibitors from the skilled trades: masonry, welding, electrical, construction and building supply. The association's page lists 26 exhibitors so far, including ACME Brick and Oklahoma Natural Gas. The morning is Student Day for registered high school and career-tech students; the 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. window is the career fair for adults ready to work. Admission is free, and job seekers are encouraged but not required to register on the association's event page. No hiring headcount has been announced, so bring a resume and ask each booth about apprenticeships and entry-level crews. Questions go to (405) 843-1508.

Macy's Holiday Hiring Day at Penn Square — Thursday, October 22

Same Thursday, a different kind of job. Macy's runs a nationwide holiday hiring day on October 22, and the Penn Square store is the only Macy's in the Oklahoma City area. Walk in to apply for seasonal part-time store work; no registration is needed, but applying online first speeds things up. Event hours vary by store, so call (405) 841-2800 before you go. Macy's has not published a local headcount or a single pay rate; each posting lists its own range. Miss it, and the last hiring day of the season is Thursday, November 19.

⚠️ Read This Before You Drive Over

Four of the eight events on this list are hosted by a school, and that is the catch. None of those four is a walk-up public event where anyone off the street can hand a resume to 80 employers. Each one is open to that institution's students and, in most cases, its alumni. The other four are open more widely: the Oklahoma Works job fair on October 12, which has passed; the Del City veterans fair on October 22, built for veterans; Build My Future on October 22, a free trades fair in Norman open to any adult ready to work; and Macy's hiring day at Penn Square the same day.

That is less limiting than it sounds in a metro like this one. Between OU, OCCC and OSU-OKC there are hundreds of thousands of people in central Oklahoma who finished a certificate, an associate degree or a bachelor's at one of those three, and a lot of them have no idea their alumni status still gets them into a room full of recruiters years later. If you took even one term somewhere, call the career center and ask. It is a two-minute phone call and the answer is free.

This list is probably not for you if: you have no connection to OU, OCCC or OSU-OKC, you are not a veteran, and neither the trades nor seasonal retail fits your line of work. Skip to the job links below and apply directly instead — that is a faster path than driving to a campus you cannot get into.

🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

  • Veterans: October 22 at American Legion Post 73 in Del City, where employers plan on-site interviews and the state veterans department is on hand, then Build My Future in Norman that afternoon if you want the trades.
  • You have no campus connection: October 22, Build My Future in Norman, or Macy's at Penn Square for seasonal work.
  • Accounting, management, cybersecurity or data: October 21 at OSU-OKC. The employer mix is built around exactly those tracks.
  • Construction and engineering technologies: October 21 if you are an OSU-OKC student or alum, and October 22 at Build My Future either way. Both put the trades side in the room, not just the desk jobs.
  • Holiday retail hours: October 22 at Macy's Penn Square, or November 19 if you miss it.

What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Fifteen printed resumes. Recruiters still take paper at these, and running out at 11 a.m. is a wasted trip.
  • Your student or alumni ID, or whatever the career center tells you it accepts at the door.
  • A short answer to "what are you looking for" that names a role, not a feeling.
  • A phone with your work history already typed somewhere you can copy from — half of these employers will hand you a QR code and ask you to apply on the spot.
  • Comfortable shoes. The OSU-OKC fair is up on the second floor of the Student Center.

🔎 Where to Aim This Fall

Campus fairs are a slice of the OKC market, not the whole of it. The metro's steady hiring runs through health systems, the logistics corridors along I-40 and I-44, the corporate offices downtown and in Automobile Alley, and the maintenance and skilled trades work that keeps Tinker, the fairgrounds and every warehouse in between running. None of that waits for a career fair.

Are these Oklahoma City job fairs open to the general public?

Most of the campus fairs are not. The four campus fairs are open to those schools' students and, in most cases, their alumni; OCCC and OSU-OKC both name alumni explicitly. Still ahead and open more widely: the October 22 Build My Future trades fair in Norman, which is free and open to adults ready to work, and Macy's hiring day at Penn Square the same day. The October 22 Del City fair is built for veterans; call OESC at 405-557-7100 if you are not one. If you have no connection to OU, OCCC or OSU-OKC, call the career center before you drive to a campus fair.

Do any of them cost money?

Build My Future is free, and Macy's hiring day needs no registration. The Del City veterans fair listing does not mention a cost. OSU-OKC has not published a cost for the October 21 fair, so ask when you contact career services.

Is there a public job fair in Oklahoma City this fall?

The public job fair at Oklahoma Works on October 12 has passed. Still ahead: Build My Future on October 22 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Norman, listed on the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association's own event page, and Macy's holiday hiring day at Penn Square Mall the same day. Several third-party listings advertise OKC career fairs at hotel venues this fall, but the ones we checked did not publish a full street address or an employer list, and the organizers' own sites were not reachable to confirm them. We left them off rather than send you to an address we could not stand behind.

What should I do if I cannot get into any of these?

Apply directly. Every large employer in this metro — the hospital systems, the airlines and aerospace operations at Will Rogers and Tinker, the distribution centers, the city and county — posts openings continuously and hires off applications, not off fairs.
